Note: Microsoft has two email programs - Outlook and Outlook Express.
Open your Outlook prorgam and select E-Mail Accounts from the Tools Pull Down Menu.
Then make sure the radio button is selecting the E-mail category "View or change existing e-mail accounts"
Click the Next button
On the next screen you will be given a listing of your accounts in your Outlook program. Most people only have one account so make sure it is highlighted; if you have multiple accounts, select one of the email accounts you want to edit. Click the button on the right that says "Change".
The screen above represents the screen you will be making changes to on your computer. Due to the many different versions of Microsoft Office, yours may or may not look exactly the same as the image; however, the information should be similar and the field names should be almost the same. We need to change most of these settings but the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) will remain the same.
- In the User Information area type "Your Name:" as you want people to see it when they get an email from you.
- Enter your email address inside the "E-mail Address:" field. Notice on the image above that I have used both upper and lower case letters in my address. Email addresses are not case sensitive however, usernames are.
- Below that is the "Logon Information" area. Your username is your email address in all lower case letters. Enter your password also. For your convenience, check the Remember password box.
- Make sure the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is NOT checked.
- On the top right under "Server Information" only change the "Incoming mail server (POP3):" setting. This will mail.yourdomain where yourdomain is everything to the right of your username after the @ sign.
- Do not change the outgoing mail server, this is set by our ISP
(the company you use to connect to the internet) If you want
to use ZoolaMoves for your outgoing mail server see the Red lines
below (this is optional for most people)
- At this time you can test the account settings; you should get favorable results
- It is not necessary to change any of the "More Settings" stuff.
Click "Next" and then "Finish". You are ready to send and receive
email.
Using ZoolaMoves as your outgoing mail server (Optional)
Click More settings....
Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab
Check, "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
Change the radio button to Log on using
enter your username and password (see image to the right)
