Note: Microsoft has two email programs - Outlook and Outlook Express.
Step 1: Start the Microsoft Outlook Express mail client application.
Step 2: On the main menu bar click "Tools" and select "Account..." to bring up the "Internet Accounts " window.
Step 3: In the "Internet Accounts " window, click on the "Mail" tab to show all e-mail accounts configured in Outlook Express.
If you are altering an existing email account, highlight it as shown below, then click properties.
If you are creating a new account, simply click on the "Add" button and select "Mail...". This will open up the "Internet Connection Wizard" window.
Step 4: In the "Internet Connection Wizard" window, fill in the name to be displayed with this e-mail account into the "Display name:" field, this is the name that people will see when you send out an email. Click the "Next" button.
Step 5: Fill in the e-mail address for this account into the "E-mail address:" field.
Then click the "Next" button.
Step 6: Select POP3 from the "My incoming mail server is a" field.
In the "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:" field enter "mail.yourdomain" without quotes where "yourdomain" is, well... your domain. Since my domain name is zoolamoves.com, then I would enter mail.zoolamoves.com as shown below.
In the "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:" field again enter "mail.yourdomain" where "yourdomain" is replaced with your domain name which you are using with this e-mail account.
Click the "Next" button.
Step 7: Next, fill in the "Account name: " field with your e-mail address and the "Password:" field with the password for your e-mail account. Also enable/check the "Remember password" field and uncheck the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" field. Then click the "Next" button.
Step 8: Click the "Finish" button to return to the "Internet Accounts " window, and proceed to the instructions (below) to finish configuring your outgoing mail server settings.
Configuring Your Outgoing Mail Server Settings:
Step 9: In the "Internet Accounts " window, click on the "Mail" tab to show all e-mail accounts configured in Outlook Express . Next, click on your e-mail account to select it, then click the "Properties" button to open up the e-mail "Properties" window.
Step 10: In the e-mail "Properties" window, the e-mail account settings should already be filled in. If you are joining us from step 3, make sure that both the Incoming mail (POP3) filed and the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field have mail.yourdomain where "yourdomain" is replaced with your domain name. In the example below, I use my domain name zoolamoves.com.
At the bottom of the e-mail "Properties" window, enable/check the "My server requires authentication" field, then click the "Settings..." button to open the "Outgoing Mail Server" window.
Step 11: In the "Outgoing Mail Server " window, make sure the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected. Then click the "OK" button to return to the e-mail "Properties" window. Finally, click the "OK" button in the e-mail "Properties" windows to save the changes, then click OK as often as necessary to save the changes and exit the mail setup program of Outlook Express.
Your OE Program is now ready to receive and send mail using your domain name. Follow the above steps to create any additional email accounts you have asked to be set up with Zoola Moves.
If you are migrating your account information over to Zoola Moves, you may not receive any email immediately. This will be discussed with you by a representative of Zoola Moves and you will be informed as to when the account should be working. Most accounts are set up on the customer's computer prior to making changes at Zoola Moves, this insures that no email is lost. If errors should show up, click Cancel to stop them.
Before deleting any existing accounts, please contact Zoola Moves and make sure all the settings are working correctly. Zoola Moves may also send you an email letting you know that you can safely cancel your account with other providers and delete your "old" mail account.
SPECIAL
NOTE: For Bresnan users
Bresnan blocks their outgoing mail servers, that is, they try to force their customers to use their outgoing mail servers. If you cannot send mail, but can receive it try changing the Outgoing port to 587 as shown in the image below. You access this screen with the info from Steps 9 and 10 above and selecting the Advanced tab.
